Innovation & Excellence from our home ground.
VEC was founded in 1994 and established in Ulverstone on Tasmania’s North West Coast by two local highly respected Tasmanians (Kees & Pam van Ek). We continue to withhold the local culture and stay true to its values by committing to supporting the local industry.
With our head office continuing to thrive in Ulverstone, the majority of works performed over the years has been in Tasmania. There are very few bridges you cross that haven’t had some form of work done to them in the past by a VEC employee!
We have a strong relationship with the Department of State Growth, TasRail, TasWater, TasIrrigation, the Launceston Flood Authority as well as several local councils.

“The LFA commends VEC for the professional and diligent manner in which they conducted the works on the Launceston Flood Levee Project. The project was completed without a single lost-time-injury, demonstrating the work ethos and safety systems incorporated into VEC’s work system are exemplary”.
